I am using an Acer Aspire X3200 which has a built-in multi-format memory card reader located in the front panel of the CPU. I used to be able to just insert my microSD memory card enclosed in its adapter into the slot for the memory card reader and it would be detected right away but now when I do this, it is no longer being detected by the computer.
I already tried using another microSD memory card, even another adapter but it gives me the same thing. Could this be a possible virus issue? I even suspected that dust could have accumulated in the slot for the memory card reader so I cleaned it using a vacuum cleaner made just for computers but still no change at all.
I would appreciate any help that you can extend.

MicroSD Memory Card Not Being Detected by Acer Aspire X3200
Hi,
There are probable cause of this problem. Check if the port you are using is out of debris. This could lessen the contact from each devices that you'll be using. It can be your device driver, which fails to read your device if not installed or updated. And the worst scenario, It can be infected with a virus. Better scan you system or reformat you computer but be sure to back up everything that might be useful for you.
Hope it helps.

Hi.
You should try to reset that port in your computer. Sometimes it happen that ports get disconnected because of extra connectivity or mostly happens because of over used heating problem.
If you think it’s because of some virus. Then simply format your SD card or for just testing use some other SD card in it.
Open device manager and select that specific port of reader and disable it. Reboot your computer and then enable it back.
I hope it will start working.
If not better go to hardware shop.

If the built-in card reader on your laptop doesn’t detect the memory card you insert, try using a USB card reader first like this Tek Republic TUC-300 Portable 12-in-1 USB 3.0 Card Reader from Amazon. If there’s no problem with your system, it should detect your microSD card.
But if after using this device you are still unable to access your microSD card then there’s a problem with the system. First, try connecting the USB card reader on a different computer and see if your microSD card can be detected. If there’s no problem and the card is accessible, try using the System File Checker utility to check the system files on your laptop.
On your laptop, press the Windows key + R to bring up the “Run” dialog then type without quotes “cmd” then hit Enter. In the command prompt window, type without quotes “sfc /scannow” then hit Enter. Insert your Windows setup CD or DVD on your optical drive then continue. Wait until the process is complete. When it is finished, close the command prompt then restart the computer.
See if this works.
