William,

Try this solution:

1) Open MPC then go to View > Options

2) From the left side, select Playback then click "Output: just below it.

3) Make sure that the Direct Show Video is set to "VMR9 Renderless"

4) Restart MPC and try to capture a video image.

One last reminder, your system needs at least DirectX 9.0

Wong

To capture an image from a video, you can use the Windows built-in function – press "PrntScrn" button located in the top right-most part of your keyboard, next to the "Pause/Break" and "ScrlLck" buttons. Pressing "Print Screen" button will capture your entire desktop into your Windows clipboard. Then, open Microsoft Paint by clicking "Start", pointing to "Programs", then point to "Accessories" and click "Paint".

In Paint, click "Edit" and then "Paste".

Now you can save your picture without an error.
