Mailbox Issue with Outlook 2007 using IMAP

I’m having trouble with my Outlook 2007 using IMAP. Can you please help me on how to make the mailbox works efficiently? It’s taking so long to update it. I already checked the settings but nothing helps. What should I do?

Hoping that you have already set up an account on outlook

Please try this steps

1. Open outlook

2. Click the TOOLS menu,and select on the ACCOUNT SETTINGS

3. On the Account type,choose IMAP instead of POP3 or HTTP

4. Click on more settings and then click on advanced

5. On the outgoing server(SMTP),change it to 587. The incoming server (IMAP) should be 143

6. On the root folder path,enter INBOX

Now outlook will only show the inbox folder. For the additional folders like drafts,sent and trash,

Follow this steps.

1. Click on the TOOLS menu and choose the IMAP folders

2. Click QUERY

3. Now select the folder you want and click subscribe

4. Repeat the process for additional folders you want

5. Click OK and close

You can also have the sent messages saved in the IMAP sent folder

follow this steps

1. Click on TOOLS and select ACCOUNT SETTINGS

2. Select the IMAP account, then click CHANGE

3. Click on MORE SETTINGS

4. Click on the FOLDERS tab

5. Click the CHOOSE AN EXISTING FOLDER OR CREATE NEW FOLDER TO SAVE YOUR SENT ITEMS FOR THIS ACCOUNT IN

6. Expand the list of folders and select the SENT folder

7. Click OK to close window

8. Click NEXT and then FINISH

9. Now close the "ACCOUNT SETTINGS" window

You are now setup to use IMAP on outlook 2007
