Hello,

My new Lenovo Thinkpad T430 is very good, but recently I have started facing battery problems. While using the battery the system is being shut down abruptly when the battery charge % goes down but before critical low battery percentage. I mean to say that if I have set to make it sleep when battery charge goes below 10%, it is going off abruptly when the charge is 11% or so. I never faced this kind of problem with my previous version of Lenovo laptop though. Can somebody help me out here, please?

Hello Robin,

Let us start by first determining the health of your battery, Prima facie it seems to be a case of a battery on the brink of going bad. To determine this we need to run a diagnostic check on the battery. To do that try the following steps

(a) Open the Lenovo Support Program.

(b) Click on battery health. This should tell you whether to replace the battery or not.

Second solution is to set the sleep point to above 15% because 10% is very very low. You should never drain your battery below 30% for longevity of the battery.
