I am getting error windows update error code 80240016 on my computer. I have been trying to update a single file again and again, but this error is preventing the file from getting upgraded.

- Then, type net stop wuauserv in the command prompt window.
- Next, wait until the WU service stops and also wait for the command prompt to regain focus.
- Now, type net start wuauserv in the window.
- It would start the service again.
