I am trying to recover from a virus in my system, and I have selected the files to delete, but every time I do that the error windows defender error code 0x80004002 comes up on the screen. I want to remove this virus from my computer. Any suggestions? Please reply ASAP.
You can remove the virus by performing these steps.
First and foremost, end those processes from task manager which are suspicious.
Check the “Show hidden files and folders” option in “Folder Options” under “Tools” menu.
Delete all the infected entries in the registry.
Delete the associated files on your PC.
Open your browser, and delete history, cookies and Internet files.
Finally, reboot your PC.
If you receive error code “0x80004002” and you can’t delete files, try doing it in Safe Mode. Restart your computer then press F8 before the Windows logo appears. In “Advanced Boot Options” screen, select “Safe Mode” then hit Enter. After logging in, try deleting the files then see if it works. Most of the users were able to fix it using this method.
The cause of the problem is the files that were getting saved when you visit websites with your web browser. If this doesn’t work and you often use Microsoft Internet Explorer, try resetting its settings. Click “Start,” “Control Panel,” “Network and Internet Connections” then “Internet Options.” In “Internet Properties” window, go to “Advanced” tab then click “Reset” at the bottom under “Reset Internet Explorer settings.”
On the next screen, click “Reset.”
