I was trying to install a Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 on my PC. The program stops responding, and then the error message pops up on the computer screen in the following manner:

‘error 1321 setup cannot modify the file. Verify that the file exists in your system and also, that you must be havingthe permissions to update it.’

I cannot even cancel the installation of the Office Suite.

Can someone tell me how to fix this issue?

Method 1: Disable the Encrypt Contents to Secure your Data

If you want to resolve this error, then make sure that the settings of encrypting contents to secure data are not enabled. For that, right-click the folder where you wish to install the MS Office Suite. Now, click on properties and then General tab. Next, go to Advanced option.

Now, in the Advanced Attributes dialog box, ensure that the checkbox Encrypt contents to secure data under Compress or Encrypt Attributes arenot enabled. If it is not, then uncheck to disable.
