LeapPad does not recognize any clicks
I opened the device after few months for my Son today and notice it does not work. Any touch on the screen is useless.
Any ideas on what can be the reason for the screen to not recognize the touch
The problem is that there might be something that is lodged on the small gap around the edge where it meets the body of the LeapPad. What you have to do is to turn off the LeapPad off and make sure that it is clean. Afterwards, check that small gap around the edge and use any material that could clean that part for any dust or unnecessary objects that may have cause the screen to be unresponsive.
If the screen is still unresponsive, connect the device to the computer and using the connect software, synchronize it to the computer. Then click Settings at the top right corner. Afterwards, go to the tab that says LeapPad and then select repair. This will run a diagnostic and, as best as it could, automatically fixes any problems found. Once finished, disconnect the device from the computer and check it again.Â

Try removing the batteries and insert it again and then restarting the device might solve your problem. otherwise look carefully for any gap between the toucpad and the bottom board this could cause the screen to freez, try removing the gap and your screen will start responding.
If any of the above doesnot work than the problem could be with the screen driver as you kept it inactive for so long. Try connecting the device to your PC and troubleshoot it. If it is still not solved then contact Leapfrog help at Leapfrog Cutomer help.
