I'm thinking of buying IPhone 4S.  Does IPhone 4S have the latest NFC technology that’s better than Google's Android or should I expect this from IPhone's upcoming models?  I don't want to switch to IPhone 4S if the NFC technology Apple is using is not better than Android’s.

Hi Susandwindsor,

After hearing your question I am providing you some information that may fulfill your interest. NFC or Near Field Communication is built for smartphones and for similar devices which works by establishing radio communication with each other by touching devices together or bringing them into close proximity. The NFC was founded in 2004 by Nokia Philips and Sony and now has more than 160 members. NFC devices can be used in contactless payment system. It is similar to those systems used in credit cards and electronic ticket smart cards. But iPhones does not yet have NFC. And Apple does not yet have made any statement about the technology’s inclusion in future products.

Hope this may help you to take a decision.

Thank you.

Hello Susanwindsor,

I appreciate you for posting your question in this site and thanks for that. Your question is all about iphone 4s if it has an NFC technology. Sad to say it has no NFC technology unlike android. but I have read in an article it says that the next iphone to launch will have an NFC technology. The reason why it has no NFC technology because engineering NFC into a smartphone is very difficult and time consuming and requires a combined software and hardware development by a manufacturer.

I hope this information will help you.
