Any laptop’s battery life is one of the important features to consider. This applies especially to those who frequently travel and bring along with them their laptops. At present, most of the common, conventional and mid-range laptop models usually have a battery life of about 4 hours or so, in an average. While laptops on a thorough use typically last about 2.5 to 3 hours.

This being said, could anyone here suggest laptop models that have an average battery life of about 5 to 6 hours? Thanks in advance.

  • Battery lifespan depends on many things. One of them is display size. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi should be off if not used. Processor taking a greater role in making your battery lasts shorter or longer. If you are doing complex things like playing games, then more power is used.

  • Like IBM X61 – 12.1" and has a massive and most amazing battery time of something like 8 hours when setup properly. Or if you are not very hard on budget then Toshiba R500 (the one with the SSD hard drive) can be a choice. Its battery life rated at over 5 hours. Although its bit pricey at $4000.
  • I love my Samsung N120 netbook it has 7 hours, 43 minutes, battery time. I prefer netbook while I am travelling as it gives me 3, 4 hours more productivity, and its easy to carry too and I reach at my destination before I know it.
  • Or you can even try external laptop batteries. Now a days in U.S., manufacturers have created external laptop batteries that can be easily attached to your laptop with the help of an AC adapter. These external batteries can run amazingly for 5-7 hours with on a single charge. However, the battery life depends on the type of battery; lithium or Nickel, and the brand.
