I just formatted my Sony vaio laptop recently and with all Sony laptops, there are function keys that help access shortcut functionality such as reducing sound level, brightness and others. Since I formatted my laptop, all these function keys have stopped working. The serial number is VPCEA1S1E, can anybody help me on this please?

Well, the reason for 'fn' key not working well is due to missing system drivers.

Vaio laptops use the ACPI function to control system access like brightness / volume etc.

You need to install ACPI driver for Fn key to work properly.

Install driver from sony Vaio website entering your model number in search tap e.g. 'http://vaio-link.com' after entering the model number install Sony 'Utils.dll' then install 'Sony Shared Libraby'

Now your fn key should work. Reboot your PC after installation.
