I downloaded the .iso file of Zorin OS 8 from the home page of the OS. After that, I burned the files to a blank DVD using Windows Disc Image Burner. But when I try to boot Zorin OS from DVD then a black screen appears which reads Kernal Panic 0000008.X and else. What can I do to fix this?

Hello,

Installing any Linux with CD/DVD is of much risk. CD/DVD burning, booting is a troublesome work and sometimes, it fails and gives serious panic. The best way to install Linux is via USB flash drive.

If you have the ISO, you can create a bootable USB drive using UNetbootin or Universal USB Installer. Then, plug-in the USB and restart your PC and boot into the USB drive.

Booting from CD/DVD makes much trouble. Sometimes, they don’t burn perfectly because of the defect of either the burner or the CD/DVD itself. So, all OS installation is highly recommended to perform with USB drive.
