Jailbreaker for iPad and iPhone 4s on the new iOS 5.1
Hello there Abraham,Â
My friend is using and IPhone 4S and he tried to upgrade and jailbreak his phone to iOS 5.1 and got a good result, even if he use it as surfing/downloading still it does not drain the battery easily, and able to download more application.
For you to be able to Jailbreak your IPhone you need first to Install the ITUNES 10.6 so you can be able to proceed.
It is important that you will create a back-up on your file so that when interrupted nor failed to update you can still have a copy of it.
When you finish creating a back-up you will then download the iOS 5.1, in order for you to do this follow this steps (go to settings, click general and the software update) a dialog box then will appear that will let you download and install the iOS 5.1, you will then just hit the download and install.
After doing this you have to download the Redsnow 0.9.10b6 for Windows and Mac OS X. Then select Jailbreak, this will ask you to put your device into DFU mode, for you to do this just do below steps:
1. You have to turn off your device.
2. Plug your device to a computer.
3. Hold the Home and Power Button together for 10 seconds then release the power button but still holding the home button until the computer recognizes your device.
4. Then automatically the ITunes will identify that you are in DFU mode already.
After that the Redsnow will then prepare your device for jailbreaking, then just select the (INSTALL CYDIA). On this process please do not allow interruption so it will be successful.
Once the update is successful you will be ask to tethered boot your iPhone in Redsnow in order to work again. Just launch Redsnow 0.9.10b6 again then click the EXTRAS button and select boot button to be able to go back to DFU mode again, You are done updating your iPhone by then.
This process is also applicable for the iPod and iTouch.
