Issues with Buffalo AirStation N300 Wireless Router restarting

I have a Buffalo AirStation N300 Wireless travel router so I could access the internet and not be concerned about wireless connectivity. However, it is out of warranty and I find it resets itself on certain days. I have tried restarting it, but I see no results and it still happens, some days it will reset 1 time, other days it is up to 3-4 times. I would prefer not to purchase anything new, but if necessary I will. Are there any suggestions on what to do to prevent resetting? If no other tricks, suggestions on next type of portable wireless travel routers? Thank you.

Hello Michael!

A reboot process or restart in any devices means problem in the system or in this case hardware. If your wireless keeps on resetting itself unplug to power cord. Check the connector and port, try to gently wiggle your connector while connected to port check if you will hear “click” or “tick” sound. Try to unscrew the locks and check the inner part of the device especially the power port. Ask any electronics technician to solder if there’s any part that needs soldering. In my case every time I have problem like this, since it’s portable I’ll bring it along the way. I’ll stop by one of the repair shop and ask them to check if there’s any defects with the device. They will check it for you for free. After doing primary diagnostic test they will give you suggestions if you need to replace it. For me it is necessary to replace according to the status of your device. Some of the best portable routers are D-Link Cloud Router, Apple Airport Express 802.11n WPS, TP-Link, Asus and NetGear.
