Hello,

I have this simple for some, but very intriguing question for me. My iPod touch suddenly stopped getting recognized by my iTunes. It doesn't sync any more.

Has anyone else faced a similar issue? Please help.

Thanks.

Hi,

I faced a similar problem a few days back. The following solution helped me in getting back my iPod up and running.

First of all, you need to check if you have the latest version of iTunes. This you can check using Google. If your iTunes version is not the latest one, then just reinstall it. Also check your OS. For Mac, the version should be 10.4.11 or beyond. For Windows it should be one of Windows XP Home or Professional, Vista Home Premium, Ultimate, Enterprise or Business edition.

If the OS is a problem, then you need to upgrade.

Hello,

I checked my iTunes as well as my OS version. As per your suggestion both of them seem to be perfect in my case. Can there be any other issue, which is causing this problem for me?

I know this is a very basic thing that I am telling you but at times we do skip the basics, when we are troubled.

Did you check your iPod touch battery. If the iPod's battery is very low, then at times it takes up to 10 minutes to show up in iTunes. In case of extremely low battery, you may even not see the battery icon for up to 2 minutes on your iPod.

Also try checking different USB ports. May be one of your USB port is the culprit.

Another possible problem is the interference by some software like security or Antivirus.

You can either try updating them and checking if this works fine for you or disabling them. MSCONFIG in Windows, is used to solve the problem of conflicting software.

Hello,

I have read all the comments. I think that the best way to solve it is if you start to search for the cause of the problem because it can be caused by a lot of things.

– Probably it doesn't work because you have jailbroken your iPod, if that happened you have to be sure that you had made it well and the version is suggested by experts.

– If that is not the problem, probably your sync- cable doesn't work so you have to try syncing with another one.

– Also try doing it with another USB port.

– If these are not the problems I think that there is something with your computer so try to restart it. Also you can try to reinstall the ITunes or reput an older version.

Please write down some details and probably I can help on a better way.

Have nice day!
