I don’t know what to do with my problem that involves menus or the iPad screen not showing whenever I’m viewing slideshows. I want to have the apps I have to be shown even during slideshows. Even if the HMDX cables, such as usb and rca adapters, are reset, the menus will not show, as only the slideshows are shown on the screen.

It may be a problem with the screen resolution that you have set for your ipad that is causing the slideshows not to appear. Just loom for the screen settings and adjust the screen resolution. If is very low then increase the resolution and see what the effect is.
Another possible problem could be with the program you are using to run the slide shows. May be the slides have been saved in the pdf format which does not support playing the slide shows, hence you will need to convert that certain document to PowerPoint so as the slide shows can play.
