Hello,

I have recently installed the DivX web player on my system successfully for playing embedded videos on web pages.

When I tried to run it, one of its add-ons created a problem resulting in the following internet explorer error:

The error says:

Internet Explore has encountered a problem with an add-on and needs to close.

The following add-on was running when this problem occurred:

File:npdivx32.dll

Company name:Divx Inc.

Description:Divx Web Player

Learn more about add-ons…

Can anyone please let me know what is creating this problem and what should I do to resolve it out.

Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Regards

ammelia

Hi Ammelia Jesse,

Any of the following could be the cause of the error:

  • you may have downloaded an executable file that is causing the problem.
  • It could be caused by any spyware or virus that is running on your computer.
  • It could be the add-on that you installed that caused this problem, maybe the current update contains some bugs or errors that maybe incompatible with the current version of Internet Explorer.

How do you solve it?

  • Open IE, then go to Tools, then click Delete All, including all offline content, to delete all your temporary internet files.
  • If the above suggestion does not work, you can simply disable all plug-ins that you have installed to Internet Explorer. Go to Control Panel, then Internet Options, then go to the “Advanced” tab and then disable all your third party browser extensions. This is done by removing the check mark from the “Enable Third Part Browser Extensions” .
