Integrated Lights-Out 2 (iLO 2) error

Hi,

I was attempting to use Integrated Lights-Out 2 (iLO 2) to establish an Integrated Remote Console (IRC) session, the following error message was displayed on the IRC window.

Error message:

Failed to connect to server. Check for available telnet connection.

Integrated Lights-Out 2 (iLO 2) error

Hi,

Please check if telnet (port 23) is open. In order to use the remote console, it requires telnet to be available.

Go to your Firewall then check if it's blocking the said port.

Start iLO in your machine with JRE 1.5.1 or JRE 1.4.2 installed. I think the updated JRE caused the failure of the console to launch. JRE 1.5.1 fixes security holes so probably the previous JRE security issues were fixed.

However, I recommend you use ILO with the older version of JRE(1.4.2) for its compatibility and stability.
