Hello, I am facing some problems installing VMware vsphere client on Windows Server 2008. And I am getting this error while installing: "Error 1406 – could not write value Product Language to key SOFTWAREVMWARE, Inc. VMware Virtual Infrastructure Client. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel."  Please tell me if there is a way to install this or why I am facing this problem.

Hey Simon!

I also faced this error for a very long time. I search on the internet but nothing helped me. I share it with many of my friends and my teachers also, but I did not got any solution to fix this problem.

But then one of my friend came to me with a simple solution which I apply on this error and found myself free from this error.

So the thing you have to do is very simple. Just follow these steps:

1. Click on Start button > Run and type regedit and press enter.

2. It will open registry editor. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREWow6432NodeVMware, Inc. and delete this entry.

3. After deleting this entry, Click on Retry button on your error.

Your installation will be complete easily.

Thanks

That error normally appears when you don’t have enough permission or you don’t have administrator rights and you install a program then the error is triggered. When this happens, the best workaround is to run the installer or setup file as administrator. To try this, right-click on the setup file and select “Run as administrator.” This should allow the installer to run with full administrative privileges.

See if this works. If this doesn’t work, make sure you are using an administrator account. You cannot install a program if you are using a limited account. Another possible reason is compatibility. You are probably installing an incompatible program. Before installing the VMware vSphere Client, make sure your computer meets the requirements. Check the program’s system requirements.
