The new Dell Vostro 3460 is not coming with windows 8, Dell is not attached the new version of windows OS. It is coming with either windows 7 or Ubuntu 11.10, it's not a great news but that's what they say about it.

The Dell Vostro lineup is primarily devoted for the businesses with negligible or no IT assistance as stated by them. Dell Vostro 3460 is slated to be released on June 21st with the starting price $599 and will be obtainable at dell.com.
It features a 14-inch display along with the 3rd generation of Intel processors supported by 4GB DDR3 RAM, HD 1366 X 768 WLED Anti-glare display and 32 GB mSATA SSD and will have Windows 7 OS bundled. The batteries included will consist of 6-cells. It will show case fast boot which is mainly because of Intel Rapid Start Technology.
Coming to the security side, it has a typical fingerprint reader. The File and folder encryption is offered via DigitalPersona File Protection Software. Besides this there are other softwares for data protection and online backup.
