I received an error message while using Windows Fax and Scan software

Hi Experts,

I received an error message while using Windows Fax and Scan software on my laptop running with Windows 7. It failed to connect to the built-in modem of the machine. The screenshot of the error message is as under.

If you have any idea for the error, occurred with the Windows Fax and Scan software, please help.

I received an error message while using Windows Fax and Scan software

Hello Adams Baker,

Thanks for sharing your problem with us, to solve your problem please follow the following steps:

1. First of all backup your registry. Type regedit and hit enter. Go to:

• KEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftFaxAccounts.Right 

Click on Accounts & select Export. Then please save your .reg file somewhere else.

2. Turn of WFS and delete all the sub keys under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftFaxAccounts.

3. Run WFS elevated. This should allow it to recreate account.

4. Do some configuration to make your fax modem or server work again.
