Hi,
I received the error message while installing Microsoft SQL Server 2012. Have a look at the screenshot below. I do not understand the message. I downloaded the software, preserved it as ISO DVD and tried to install on WIN 7 OS.
Please help me to solve the issue.

Hello Olivia,
This kind of error occurs when the downloaded ISO file is corrupted and thus unable to open the installer file. You should try to download a fresh copy from a trusted resource and re-install it. You can copy the ISO image file from a MSDN subscriber. They are fully licensed for the SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Edition install.Â
Download it and you shouldn't face any problem installing it.

Hi,
The error appears to be the DVD installer or the DVD player, the DVD could have some scratches making it difficult to read.
DVD Scratches or just dirty- To fix this try using a clean cotton cloth and just wipe the bottom part of the DVD make sure there are no smudges or finger prints on it and click try again.
DVD Player – this is a bit old school but try ejecting the DVD then gently blow some air using your mouth in the DVD player to clean the dirt inside the player. if you have a DVD cleaning kit. put it in the dvd player to clean it. another is use a different DVD player external USB type DVD player to install the software.
