I need a soft recovery HDD program

I think my hard drive got corrupted or damaged so I can't access my files anymore.  Is there a soft recovery HDD program where I choose what files to recover?  I'm still in a Windows XP 64 bit sp2 system.  Thanks in advance.

Dear Braxton,

Hard drive recovery software will works as long as the drive is detected in BIOS or under disk management. Otherwise, drive with mechanically damaged Signs won't shows up In your system and thus data recovery would be impossible.
