I Have Tried To Install A WFBS Application; And I Face A 0x80040707 Error Message

When the user tries to install the OfficeScan server or the Security Server of WFBS, 0x80040707 error appears. The error occurs when the user runs an upgrade or installation in a Microsoft server platform.

The steps to fix the 0x80040707 error are as follows:

• Go to Control Panel and check Trend Micro Plug-in Manager is installed or not.
• If the system has a WFBS standard version, uninstall the program.
• Go to the location of the server installation file.
• Right-click on the setup file and select Run as Administrator.
• Agree with the conditions and install the application.

This error can also occur when Windows Update continuously fails to search for updates and can’t install them. The other things responsible for this error are Windows Registry, Windows Filesystem, Virus, Corrupted files, Adware, Misconfiguration, Internet access, and Windows update service.

The steps to fix the 0x80040707 error are as follows:

• Go to the directory that stores the file for launching the installation.
• Right-click on the installation file and select Run As.
• Uncheck the box that says Protect My Computer and data from Unauthorized Activity, and click OK.
