I have Duplicate Emails in Outlook Express

Outlook express downloads 2 copies of all emails. What can I do to fix this? The only different thing that happened was that Microsoft did an update.

I have Duplicate Emails in Outlook Express

What we can do is we need to locate the Pop3uidl.dbx, this is file responsible storing information from messages left on a POP3 mail server.

These are the steps that we need to do in order to fix this issue.
First,we need quit Outlook Express; then locate the Pop3uidl.dbx.

For those who don't know where location of this file, we can use the search feature of XP. Just click on Start and open "Search", then click For Files or Folders and key in Pop3uidl.dbx, once the file is located, just rename the file changing it to Pop3uidl.old

Lastly, re launch Outlook express and it should create a new Pop3uidl.dbx. Just make sure that the OUTLOOK EXPRESS is NOT open before we start any troubleshooting because it may encounter errors saying that file is in use by another program.
