The compressed file you downloaded maybe;

1. Not completely Downloaded. Solution: You need to redownload it and extract it again.
2. Zipped File Corrupted. Solution: The same as above. There's no way to fix the corrupt .xls.
3. The file may be compressed with the latest compression software: Solution: Update your compressor/extracting software.

You may consider downloading different Compression software. Like 72 ZIp, Win Zip, WINRAR, Power Archiver.

Here a suggestion;

• If you have a .ZIP file format, you better extract it from 72.zip or WINZIP.these compression agent works best with this extension file.
• If you have .RAR file format. You better extract it WINRAR or POWER ARCHIVER. This works best with this extension file.

Take a google search to find more Compression Agents available for you to download. It maybe free or a trial version.
