Hello. The 0x80072ee6 Windows 10 occurs when the updates are not installed because the service has been stopped. So, to fix the error follow the below methods.
Technique 1: Run Windows update troubleshooter.

Technique 2: Restart BITS

• Hold Windows key + R; it opens a run dialog box.
• Next, type “services.MSC” and hit ok.
• In the opened window, search for Background Intelligence Transfer Services, double click on it, select its properties.
• Set Automatic(delayed) as your startup type and click on apply.

• Click on start and stop to stop and restart the BITS services.
• Click on Ok.
