How to create a Windows 2012 r2 server backup?

Follow these steps to create a Windows 2012 r2 server backup –

1 – Open Server Manager.

2 – Go to Tools.

3 – Left-click on it and select the “Windows Server Backup” option.

4 – Select the local backup option in the left pane. Here you will get the following option –

1. Backup Schedule – Helps you back up at a future time.
2. Backup once – Helps you backup once.
3. Select accordingly. I will proceed with a backup once option here. So click on backup once.

 

6 – Choose the second option and click Next.

7 – Select the type of backup you want. I am proceeding with the custom option. You can choose the full server also.

8 – Add items to backup and click Next.

9 – Select the drive or folder to backup files and click Next.

10 – Since I have selected drive, it will ask to choose a folder in the drive. Select the folder and click Next.

11 – A confirmation dialogue box will appear. Click on backup, and backup will start.
