HI Althea Heap,

I am happy to see that you want to use Geo proxy on your Windows XP PC as a server, that's a good idea. For this you want some useful link where you can download Geo proxy as well as installation tutorial. Now I am going to show something.

  1. After starting GeoServer login to the web admin interface.

  2. Click the Authentication link.

  3. Under authentication filters panel and click the Add new link.

  4. Click the HTTP Header link.

  5. Fill in the fields of the settings form as follows:

    • Set Name to “proxy”.
    • Set Request header attributes to “sdf09rt2s”.
    • Set Role source to “User group service”.
    • Set the name of the user group service to “default”.
  6. Save.

  7. Back on the authentication page scroll down to the Filter Chains panel.

  8. Select “Default” from the Request type drop down.

  9. Unselect the basic filter and select the proxy filter. Position the proxy filter before then.
