How to reduce oracle excel output size?

Can you teach me in a way of step by step process for me to easily understand and apply the possible solution for this kind of situation?

I am just curious on how to get this done immediately.

How to reduce oracle excel output size?

There is a way of reducing the file size of Microsoft Office Excel by directly downloading a request or analysis to native Excel format instead of mhtml.

The procedure below is not recommended by Oracle since there is still a bug that hasn’t been fixed yet. It has been tested to work on Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition 11.1.1.6.

• Navigate to the path “<MiddlewareHome>Oracle_BI1bifoundationwebmsgdbmessages” and then edit the file “viewscontrolmessages.xml”.
• Change all instance of Format=mht to Format=excel.
• Login to Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition then go to Administration, Reload Files and Metadata.

You will now be able to export the reports in “.xlsx” format with less disk space consumed.
