.iso files are files created as images of media like CDs and DVDs. It acts as if it were the CD or DVD itself and contains all the files that were on the media where it was copied from. To be able to open such files, you need to have software like PowerISO installed in your machine. You can get it from here:
Just have the .iso file mounted and PowerISO will create a virtual drive and you can run the .iso file as if it were a CD or DVD inserted into an optical drive.
You can also just burn the .iso file into a CD or DVD. You can also use PowerISO to do this.
