I’d been using qnap synch  in my windows xp OS and now I have a new computer in Windows 7 OS. At first the qnap synch on my Windows XP but now I can’t access the file on my Windows  7 computer an error said it is being used by another process. I’d need to solve this to open the important file. Is the problem on  my Operating System?

Hello There,

I have faced the same problem trying to attach domain users to a QNAP samba share it says "The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process", it's an error we can face with samba shares normally (because of Threads and process sharing,…), I fixed the problem by doing the following steps :

1. Create a domain user, like "QNAPuser" for example.

2. Make DOMAIN/QNAPuser on the QNAP web interface.

3. Map a drive to the QNAP folder for each user included in the share and select the option "Connect Using Different Credentials" from the check boxes over, when the prompt window appear enter the DOMAIN/QNAPuser credentials, check "remember password" and hit ok.

NOTE: the desired folders or the entire drive "Always available" should be as required.

The files should now sync successfully.
