Hello fellows,

How to open and check rar file mac? I was hired by a company as an assistant secretary of the manager, I am handling different files and data entry works using Mac operating system. How can I possibly open and check a rar file using Mac Os? Please share with me your idea regarding this matter.

How to open and check rar file Mac?

Hi Isabella,

You need to have a 3rd Party software to open RAR archives in Mac. Here is a list of software you may use.

1. RAR Expander – This is a free software for Mac, but it is only limited to RAR file format. You can  download it from here     https://rar-expander.en.softonic.com/mac

2.UnRarX – This is also a freeware but with some advanced features like restoring your RAR archives which are corrupted. Download link http://www.unrarx.com/index.html

3.StuffIt Expander – A more sophisticated tool which can handle multiple file formats, RAR, Zip, 7Zip, gzip, bzip, tar, stuffit archives and more. You can try the free version and upgrade if necessary. In order to use StuffIt, your Mac Operating system should be OS X 10.5 or higher and also compatible with OS X Lion. To extract your RAR archives, Launch the application and drag and drop your archive into the application window and the extraction will begin. In some cases where the archive is password protected you need to know the password in order to open the archive.
