How often should I restart my PC?

Hi guys,

I have windows 8.1 and the problem is it works really slow due to this I uninstalled un necessary apps that comes pre installed in windows 8.1 which I don't use. But still the problem is same so do you think restarting PC will work? if yes then how often I need to restart it.

How often should I restart my PC?

Hello,

Restarting your PC is definitely a good idea to make it fast enough. This will make the OS load everything fresh and work smoothly. Hardware also depends on the performance of your PC.

Windows 8.1 is a heavy OS that comes with nice graphical work that requires more resource. If you run your PC for a long time, about 3-4 hours at straight, it’s good enough to restart once or twice. But don’t make restarting so rapidly otherwise this will crash your PC for good.

Also, make sure that your PC has a good hardware combination. The least recommended hardware configuration is: RAM 4GB, processor 2.5GHz or above with a fast SSD. If your PC lacks these components, you should try to upgrade your hardware. This will give a boost result.

If you don’t, you should consider the perfect OS for your PC, for example, Windows 7. It’s still a nice and smooth one for running on less powerful PC.

Tweaking your PC will also help to speed up performance. Tools like CCleaner, Wise Care 365 etc. will help.
