I was interested in getting a tablet and since I already know windows I was thinking of the tablet. Has anyone heard the price of the Surface tablet yet. ?

Sources cited by TheNextWeb say that the base price for a Surface tablet will be $599 and the Intel-powered "pro" version will start at $999. Meanwhile, Bloomberg is reporting that the initial models will be Wi-Fi only, rather than connecting to a wireless 3G or 4G network.

First the pricing at the surface unveiling, Microsoft announced that the tablets would be "priced competitively" with current tablet offerings, and that the ARM-based surface, meant to complete with the iPad, would ship in 32GB and 64GB versions.

Another version of the Microsoft Surface tablet is the Microsoft Surface 2. The Microsoft Surface 2 tablet does not support GSM communication and doesn’t support any cellular connectivity. It was unveiled on September 2013 and released on October 2013. It measures 274.6 x 172.5 x 8.9 millimeters and weighs 675.9 grams. It doesn’t use a SIM card. It supports a built-in 2-stage kickstand.

It has a TFT capacitive touchscreen display with 16M colors at 1920 x 1080 pixels screen resolution. It supports multi-touch up to five fingers with ClearType technology. It runs on Microsoft Windows RT powered by NIVIDIA Tegra 4 T40 chipset, Quad Core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A15 processor, and ULP GeForce (72 cores) GPU. It supports microSD expandable up to 64 GB.

It runs on 2 GB RAM with internal storage available in the following capacities: 32 GB, and 64 GB. The primary camera supports 5 megapixels with autofocus and LED flash. It supports a 3.5-millimeter jack; Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n with dual-band and Wi-Fi Direct; Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP; and USB 3.0 with USB Host support. GPS is not supported. It has built-in accelerometer, gyro, and compass sensors. The pre-installed web browser supports HTML5. Java is not supported.
