Hi there,

There is no manual way to recover corrupted files, so you'll need some kind of data recovery software to fix your broken ZIP files. I would suggest you to try with Mac Data Recovery or Stellar Phoenix ZIP Recovery. They are both easy to use and will offer you the wizard that will guide you through the whole process of recovering your data.

If the files had been deleted then recovered then it shows that the recovery software wasn't able to recover the documents properly. If its not the case, something may have damaged your files, probably a virus. There isn't much that can be done to repair zip files in this case. However, there are a few programs available online that can check and try to repair zip files including winRAR. Unfortunately it only runs on windows operating system. You can try and copy these files on flash drive and try repairing them using this software. If it fails then not much else can be done.

If a ZIP file is corrupt, it will not open and you will not be able to access the contents. When an archive is damaged or corrupt, there is a very slim chance of fixing it if you are using WinRAR. WinRAR has a “Repair” feature that you can use to repair broken archives.

The repair is not always a success but the hope is there on fixing the file. If you have a broken archive, use the “Repair” tool in WinRAR to fix the archive. When repairing, make sure to select the correct archive format like if the corrupt archive is a ZIP file, select “ZIP” as the archive pattern or reference. See if this works.

If you managed to fix the ZIP file and unpack the files, make sure to check every file for correctness because, most of the time, the file you will be unpacking is still damaged. If you don’t have WinRAR, download the latest from the WinRAR Download page.
