How to find the IP knowing Mac address (which is found at the bottom of the machine). Please advise on whether there is any way to scan the network to try and find the IP address that corresponds to the MAC address.

There is a way in order for you to find an IP using a MAC address. All you have to do, is go to Start-> Run, and type in cmd. Press ok, and in that box, type in arp -a which lists a series of MAC addresses associated with their IP addresses. Now, all you have to do, is look for the IP address that corresponds to the MAC address that you have.
The first column is IP address . The second column is MAC address. I have attached a picture, so you can understand better what I have told you.
