How to enable snapshot on EICSI Enterprise?

I am having problem with my Open iSCSI Enterprise. I cannot see the option for the manual settings even when the snapshot is deactivated. And also, I want to enable the snapshot on specific day and time in a week.

Please help me on choosing the correct time settings. Please send me some advices.

Dear Rowan,

Please keep in mind that the snapshot is based on Logical Volume Manager (LVM). As such the snapshot volume has to be created from the volume manager, and the snapshot volume is then to be assigned to the iSCSI volume.

After this from the GUI in Main > snapshot, the snapshot can be scheduled.Now ENABLE the snapshot from the iSCSI target manager.

Please be careful that a space should already be reserved for the snapshot on the target partition/volume.For full details, do refer to the following document: Open-E® DSS™ PDF.

Hello Rowan,

It seems to me you are having a problem with your Open iSCSI Enterprise version. You cannot view the option for manual settings because the snapshot is based on Logical Volume Manager. The process is first the snapshot has to be created from the volume manager and then the snapshot volume is to be assigned to the iSCSI volume. Next from the snapshot tab from Graphical User Interface menu, you will be able to schedule the snapshot. The last step is to enable the snapshot from target manager.
