Hi everyone,

How do you password protect iTunes? Everyone can really access the iTunes software and I am just curious if there is a possibility to protect iTunes software. Just in case about security purposes. Your insights and overview will be a help.

Thanks.

You cannot explicitly password protect your itunes. What you can instead is to setup a user account that does not include itunes in that account. Or you have a separate account, then install itunes in such a way as to make it only available to you and not on other users.

Hope this little piece of advice would help you a lot, especially if you don't want other people messing around with your itunes music.

Hi Christine,

Since you cannot set passwords on your ITunes, I would suggest if you wanted to add restriction on your ITunes usage. You can do this by enabling Parental Control for your ITunes, this in a way will restrict users other than you to have a controlled view in ITunes. Letting other people have full access with your ITunes opens up the possibility that they will use your account to purchase songs or other media. One good practice too is every after use you need to log out your ITunes account and use a complex password.
