How to create a new document using a template from Microsoft SharePoint2010?

Hi experts,

I am trying to create a new document using a template from Microsoft SharePoint 2010, but I keep getting an error message that says

Word experienced an error trying to open the file.

Sometimes, I get an error message saying "Word has encountered a problem".

Recently, when I open my documents, it says "Opening in a Protected view."

Are these problems connected to each other? How can I fix this error?

Try these suggestions.

*Check the file permissions for the document or drive.

*Make sure there is sufficient free memory and disk space.

*Open the file with the Text Recovery converter.

 Hi,

A reason why you are receiving the error message is that you are running it under a protected mode here are the steps to follow in resolving the issue:

You must add the Office 365 or Share Point site as a Trusted Site in Internet Explorer. Follow the steps below:

• Launch Internet Explorer.

• From the menu select the Tools option.

• Select Internet Options.

• After selecting internet options choose Security tab.

• And then you have to click Sites, and click the Trusted Sites green tick.

• You have to type your domain into the text box and click Add (Open the attached file to view the image).

• And then click OK.
