I want to ask… Can I convert model in game counter strike with extensions. MDL to other 3D models, such as for 3DMax etc.? Because I have ever tried but could not.
If I can convert that format. Did I need to use tools?

First you must open up 3dMax. Click on file and than go to the subcategory known as import the list. Under the drop down menu you should be able to see the type of files that could be imported into 3dMax. The best option that you could choose is to import as an OBJ. Make sure the file is not a lower version because it will not be compatible with 3dMax.
If you are going to utilize tools, follow these instructions:
1) Download an MDI Decompiler such as Sourcestudio V 1.3.
2) After launching the program, locate the MDL file.
3) The next step involves finding a decompile location where the MDL will be placed within the SMD.
4) Next download the XSI Mod Tool6, after installing it; open up the application and click on the navigation bar and find "Valve Source". After clicking the Valve Source, a subcategory called import SMD should be selected.
5) You must than locate and import many SMD files which make up the model.
6) Next, we must export the OBJ file into 3dMax. Go to the navigation bar, click file, click export, then click OBJ file.
7) Finally, run 3dsMax_2008, click the navigation bar, click file, click import and finally locate the OBJ file.
