How can we uninstall Firefox using command prompt?

Mozilla Firefox browser has been removed from my computer through add remove programs option.

But it is still installed. I want it to be uninstalled completely.

Is it possible to uninstall Firefox from registry or by using command prompt?

How can we uninstall Firefox using command prompt?

Go to “Start” and then click “Control Panel”. And then, choose “Add or remove Programs.

Now, a list of installed programs will be displayed. Now, look for “World of Warcraft” or anything similar to this phrase and then, click on it.

Now, click remove on this tab.

A window will pop up. Now, follow all the shown instructions and your Firefox is uninstalled for your registry.

You should follow the below mentioned steps to uninstall it:

You should re-install Firefox. Once re-installed, then you can use Add Remove program option (go to “Start”, then “control panel” and then “Add or Remove Programs”) to uninstall it completely.

 

1. Select the Firefox icon and then right click on it

 

2. From the menu appeared, click on “Delete” 

 

a. A new window will pop up, asking whether you want to delete the icon or you want to go to “Add or Remove Programs”. Choose the “Add/Remove Programs” button.

b. Add or Remove Programs window will appear. Here, click on the button labeled “Remove”. You shall find it next to Firefox.

c. Follow the instructions appearing on your screen, step by step

 

3. It is done! Mozilla Firefox is uninstalled!!

Alternate solution:

You can re-install Firefox. Once re-installed, then you can use Add Remove program option (go to “Start”, then “control panel” and then “Add or Remove Programs”) to uninstall it completely.

Warning: 

• Be 100% sure that you want Firefox to be uninstalled! Once you uninstall it, all of your browsing history and bookmarks will be uninstalled, too.
• Before performing this action on other’s computers unless you get the permission.

How can we uninstall Firefox using command prompt?

Here is the process to remove programs by using a registry editor. This comes handy when you fail to remove any program from Add/Remove Programs located in the Control Panel.

1. Click “Start” button

 

2. Click on “Run” 

 

3. Here in the text box type ""regedt32"" and click the “OK” Button

 

4. Registry Editor Window will open. In this Window, find the registry key mentioned below:

 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionUninstall

Here, you will find all the programs listed in Add/Remove programs. Under the Uninstall folder in the left pane, each program is represented by a key. When you click on a key, the details of it will be displayed in the right pane. So, in order to remove Mozilla Firefox” you need to click the key. To be sure, please cross check the name in the right pane.

 

5. Now, you have selected the key in the left pane, right click on it. From the popup menu, select ‘Delete”.

 

6. A new message box will appear displaying “Are you sure you want to delete this key and all of its subkeys?"". Click the “Yes” button

 

7. Exit the registry editor by selecting “Exit” from the “File” menu or the “X” tab on the top right corner of the window.

How can we uninstall Firefox using command prompt?

Basically, if you removed a program from your computer using the Control Panel, the application is uninstalled. If that happens after uninstalling a program from the Control Panel, that means the uninstallation process encountered an error making the uninstallation incomplete. If this happens, it makes the application partly installed and partly uninstalled.

To fix the problem, you need to install the application back and then uninstall it again, that simple. If you no longer want to use Mozilla Firefox as web browser on your computer, install any version you have. Once the browser is installed back, go to Revo Uninstaller Download then download the free version. Once installed, start Revo Uninstaller then select Mozilla Firefox from the list.

Click “Uninstall” then follow the succeeding instructions to completely remove everything the program created on your computer. Once it is finished, restart your computer then go to CCleaner Free Download then download the free version. Once installed, start CCleaner and clean your system. And that’s it.
