Hello Orlie,
You will just need to get a CD that has the files that you need to backup or create their image and insert in the DVD drive of your computer. You should have Nero express or Ashampoo burning studio or any other software you prefer for burning installed.
Say the program is nero express; open it and then look for the copy entire DVD option if you want to backup the files on another CD. If you want to create an image look for create an image, or some programs just use copy for creating the image. Let the copying process begin till it ends. The drive will open and nero express will ask you to enter a blank CD. Do so. The files will then be copied the CD. For the image, just copy and save it to another location.

I think you are talking on CD/DVD writing. You need burning software like nero or ashampoo to burn them. Or you can do it with windows burner option. Insert a free disk into your DVD writer. Click the start button and go to windows DVD maker. Select your photos or videos to burn and click next. Your files will be burnt into your disc. It may need some time. Thanks.
