Hidden and Visible Available Network Connections

I have Dell Inspiron Laptop with Windows 7 Home Basic and I usually connect my laptop to Internet through WiFi. Now the problem is, sometimes my laptop does not show list of connections available, and when I restart my laptop, again it shows the list of connections. So, please tell me the reason behind this problem? Is my laptop's WiFi Adapter working properly?

Hidden and Visible Available Network Connections

I guess you should check if your laptop’s Wi-Fi is always turned on. Normally, there is a button on the top left corner of the keyboard for the Wi-Fi which turns off or turns on your Wi-Fi capability. See image.

When your laptop can’t find any Wi-Fi connections around your area, make sure the Wi-Fi switch on your laptop is turned on or activated. If this button is turned off, your computer will not be able to find any available Wi-Fi networks. You can also use a Wi-Fi finder application to help your computer find an available Wi-Fi network.

Try using Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector 1.2.1.4. It supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. Another way of fixing your Wi-Fi problem is to update your laptop’s Wi-Fi driver. To install the latest drivers for your Dell laptop, visit Dell Drivers and Downloads.
