Help with opening xhtml on mac

Hello,

I use TextEdit when opening xhtml on mac, but when I open the .html file in the Safari browser it displays what is written in TextEdit. I am new to the program so I know this is an easy fix, any help would be appreciated.

Hello Timothy,

The most likely reason is that TextEdit is saving the file as a rich text file and not as a plain text file. In TextEdit you should try from keyboard Command-Shift-T, that help toggle between plain text or rich text.

You should try saving the file as a plain text file and try to view it Safari browser. This should solve the problem.

I would also suggest avoid creating XHTML files, its simply XML + HTML, instead you should concentrate on either plain HTML or HTML5.
