Hi all,

I am having iPhone 5s and it is working fine. I have purchased a new iMac and it is amazing. I would like to copy my music files from my iPhone 5s to the iMac.

As iMac new system I got, it doesn't have any music yet. When I tried to sync both, it is said that the existing playlist on the iPhone 5s will be replaced by the playlist present on the iMac. So I might lose all music in iPhone 5s.

Am I correct here? How can I transfer the music from my iPhone 5s to the iMac? Please kindly advise. Thanks!

First of, if your iMac is new and you have no music on it yet, you can backup from the iTunes on your old PC and import it to your iMac. This step is easier and simpler but it will take a while depending on the size of your music files. To transfer the music from your iPhone to your new iMac, you can use iOS Transfer. Download iOS Transfer then install it on your iMac. And once done, follow the steps below:

1. Connect your iPhone to your Mac PC. IOS Transfer will detect your iPhone automatically.

2. Once detected, you will see the main window. Tap the Music option from the left column. And you will see the songs from your iPhone listed in a new window. Tick the songs that you wish to transfer to your iMac and click "To Mac".

You will be asked for the path where you wish to save your songs.
