There are a lot of difference between sampling and non-sampling errors. The major differences are given below.

  1. The sampling error is the error that is generated due to the data collection process. It arises when data is taken from a subset of the given dataset. A non-sampling error is any error that can generate apart from the reason mentionedabove.
  2. When the sampling is done, the error caused due to the sampling is not known until the whole population is known. However, a non-sampling error is known as soon as it occurs.
