Hi,

My system is running on Linux. And I use an external hard drive to transfer the data and store some important files in it. From today, unfortunately, when I tried to open it.

It shows some error and lock sign on it.

I am also unable to right click on it. I am in great tension because very important data are locked and its very urgent accesses the data.

Please help me out to unlock hard disk as soon as possible.

Hi Deborah,

I believe and hope that I will be able to solve your problem as you require. The hard disk can indeed be unlocked, but you must follow a specific procedure such as downloading software. This is what you will specifically do to solve the issue;

Go to the website: https://partition-magic.soft32.com/ and download the software from there.

Partition Table Doctor

Once downloaded, follow the prompts to install. The partition will free up the drive for the operating system.

You could also try installing the Linux Operating System into a virtual machine then format your hard disk and put a recovery for your data.

Partition Disks

I hope this solves your query.

Thanks.
