Guidelines in a motherboard hardware

Should I buy a new motherboard or not. My computer kept restarting after every 3mins to four hours   I returned my motherboard to the suppliers I installed it with some guidelines from a friend who is well versed with computers but the problem now my sound system is not working tried doing some settings using the control pane to reset the sound and increase the volume but still my speakers could not have sound.

My speakers are well connected to the hole at the back and when I put the on I can feel they are responding as they produce a funny sound.

What could be the problem please help

Dear Ana Dumas,

The problem with you is of your motherboard default sound card, which has to be fixed with new Sound Card. Buy new sound card and install it on your motherboard PCI slot (Slots with white color on motherboard).

After installing it on motherboard then install it's new software drivers. The image below shows PCI slot on motherboard.

Did you install the drivers for the sound card? Is your sound card one that is integrated to the motherboard or a discrete sound card?

 

Check the device manager and look for a yellow exclamation mark. If there’s one for your sound card that means it’s missing drivers. If this is an integrated sound card your motherboard should have the drivers on a CD or DVD. If you don’t have the drivers, you can visit the motherboard manufacturer’s website and download it from there.

 

If this is a discrete sound card, all the same it should come with the drivers. If not, visit the manufacturer’s website and download the driver.

You probably installed the motherboard correctly but you forgot to install all the drivers. If you have a new motherboard, you need to install its chipset drivers which you can download from the manufacturer’s website or use the CD that came with the package. If you don’t install the motherboard’s chipset driver, some components will not work. Also, the sound is not included in the chipset driver.

It is a different driver that you need to install. If you are using the built-in sound card of your motherboard, you can download the driver from the manufacturer’s website where you download the chipset driver. When visiting your motherboard manufacturer’s website, download all necessary drivers and software like the video card driver, sound card driver, chipset driver, network card driver, BIOS update, and so on.

You won’t hear a sound from your speakers if you don’t install the sound card driver. This is the main thing that makes the sound card work and you can play music afterwards.
