Hi,

I was trying to activate my newly installed antivirus software Norton 2010 when I got this error message.  I knew I was connected to the internet.  I am not a techie person, so can anyone please give me a step by step procedure on how to properly activate my antivirus software?

Need your help please with this error below:

Activation not complete

No response received from the Symantec server.

An Internet connection to the Symantec server is necessary to complete the activation process.

Please be sure your computer is connected to the internet and. if necessary, click here to check your proxy settings.

Click Next to continue

You seemed to be on the right track on your own. I think you have really did a good job updating and exploring the whole system. Now here's to do just in case:

Solution 1:

Try updating again on the other day, because it seems like the server of Norton is not currently active and may have problems on their own. They seemed to be in maintenance mode so you don't have to worry. And also you are connected to the internet and that is one fact that you don't have any problems at all.

Solution 2:

Try removing your firewall and try once you can't access their server. You might also want to contact the Support of Norton on their website and see why you can't update you Norton.

Hi!

Maybe you've got this error message "Activation not complete" sometimes we input the wrong activation key, check your activation key if you write it correctly.

If it is the right activation key then try to find another activation key.
